Publication Ethics
The publication ethics used by EDUCARE: Journal of Primary Education refers to The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) dan Peraturan Kepala LIPI Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 tentang Kode Etika Publikasi Ilmiah, Peraturan Menteri Riset, Teknologi, Dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia Nomor 9 Tahun 2018 Tentang Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah.
EDUCARE: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar is a peer-reviewed national journal published twice a year in print and online by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at the State Islamic University of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq (UIN KHAS) Jember Indonesia. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication of an article in EDUCARE: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar, including authors, editorial boards, review partners, copy editing team, layout team, proofreading team and publisher. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Publishing Ethics Guidelines
The publication of articles in EDUCARE: Journal of Primary Education is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. The articles reviewed to support and contain the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior that are expected of all parties involved in publishing, namely: authors, journal editors, review partners, publishers, and the public.
The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at the State Islamic University of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq (UIN KHAS) Jember Indonesia as the publisher of EDUCARE: Journal of Primary Education, is responsible for overseeing all stages of publishing seriously and acknowledges ethical and other responsibilities. The institution is not only committed to ensuring that reprint advertising and other commercial income do not have an impact or influence on editorial decisions but it is also committed to assisting communication with other journal managers and/or publishers if deemed useful and necessary.
Publishing Decision
The editor of EDUCARE: Journal of Primary Education is responsible for deciding which articles submitted should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive that decision. Editors may be guided by the discretion of the journal's editorial board and limited by legal requirements as they must be enforced regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editor may consult with other editors or the review team in making this decision.
Fair Treatment
Editors always judge manuscripts based on their intellectual content without distinction of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editing staff may not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, expert editors, review partners, and publishers.
Notices and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript may not be used in the editors' research without the express written consent of the author.
Responsibilities of the Assessment Team
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The peer-review review assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through the editorial communication with authors, can also help authors improve their writing.
Speed
Any selected rater who feels unqualified to assess the research reported in a manuscript or knows that his expedited review will be impossible should notify the editor and absolve himself of the assessment process.
Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for assessment must be treated as confidential documents. The document may not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Objectivity Standard
Assessment must be done objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not allowed. Assessors must state their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Source Acknowledgment
Assessors must identify relevant published works that were not cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a relevant citation. An assessor should also ask the editor to note any similarities or overlaps between the assessed manuscript and other published work.
Notices and Conflicts of Interest
Confidential information or opinions obtained through the assessment of bestari partners must be kept confidential and may not be used for personal gain. Assessors should not weigh manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest stemming from a competitive, cooperative, or other relationship or connection with any author, company, or institution with which the article relates.
Author's Obligations
Reporting Standard
Authors must present an accurate account of the work produced and an objective discussion of its significance. The primary data must be represented accurately in writing. An essay should include sufficient detail and references to allow others to repeat the work. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.
Authenticity and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works and that they have quoted correctly when using other people's work and words.
Multiple, Repeat, or Concurrent Publishing
An author, in general, may not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or significant publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable behavior.
Source Acknowledgment
Appropriate acknowledgment of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Writing Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. If other people are involved in certain important aspects of the research project, they must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. Appropriate authors must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the paper and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have approved its submission for publication.
Notices and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or another substantive conflict that may be suspected of influencing the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All financial support for the project must be disclosed.
The fundamental error in published works
If an author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in his published work, he must immediately notify the editor or journal publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the writing.
